Dali Tarot
Dali Tarot
TASCHEN recovers the 78 cards in a new tribute to the inimitable deck designed by Dalí, accompanied by a notebook by the renowned German tarot expert Johannes Fiebig.
Legend has it that during preparations for the James Bond film Live and Let Die, producer Albert Broccoli commissioned surrealist master Salvador Dalí to design a deck of tarot cards. Probably inspired by Gala, who fueled his interest in mysticism, Dalí got to work. He was enthusiastic about the project and continued with it even when the agreement with the producer ultimately did not come to fruition.
The Wizard, Death and the Moon
Dalí poses as the Magician, his wife Gala becomes the Empress and the death of Julius Caesar is reinterpreted as the Ten of Swords in the extraordinary tarot deck designed by the artist. First published in 1984 in a long-out-of-print limited edition, this luxurious case brings back the entire 78-card deck in dazzling colors. Includes a notebook on the preparation of the project and practical instructions.
